Horseback riding offers an incomparably soul-satisfying way to take in the spirit of this region and learn about the unique ecosystem that makes Sedona so special.  Every horseback adventure we offer is guaranteed to provide an authentic and memorable experience set in an awe-inspiring landscape.

Wide Open Spaces

Come enjoy our wide open spaces and learn how we work to protect and improve them.  This is a great opportunity to see wildlife, but it is NOT an appointment to do so; we’re dealing with Mother Nature here, not Walt Disney! Depending on the season, you might see elk, deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, Gambel quail, javelina, red tail hawks, and western blue birds in the winter and wildflowers in the spring. So, bring your camera – the sights are awesome!

The 1-Hour Ridge Trail

This trail climbs a ridge above the ranch providing breathtaking views of Sedona’s Red Rocks, the Mogollon Rim, Verde Valley and the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff. This is a “loop” trail suitable for all ages and riding abilities.  We do ask that you inform us of any special needs, including weight over 220 pounds.

Pricing

  • Adults: $75.00 + tax
  • Kids 7-12: $55.00 + tax (helmets provided)

The 1 1/2 Hour Quail Trail

This out-and-back trail goes to an old well we restored with the help of Quail Unlimited.  It is suitable for riders of all abilities/experience and has portions where you can ride side-by-side, a special and unusual feature.

Pricing

  • $95 per person plus tax
SUMMER SPECIAL: $10 OFF FOR KIDS 7-12

The 2 Hour Backcountry Trail

(Call 928-300-6466 for Reservations)

This trail starts along the base of a ridge and goes to a more remote area of the ranch. There are some ascents and descents on the way to a red fall-rock canyon. This is a loop ride suitable for experienced riders, motivated beginners and older children.  Like any physical activity, those who ride regularly will be most comfortable.

Pricing

  • All riders: $115.00+tax
  • Kids must be 12 or older. 200 pound weight limit

The 3-hour Canyon Trail

(Call 928-300-6466 for Reservations)

This spectacular trail continues the loop of our Backcountry Trail into some beautifully rugged terrain. Suitable for experienced adult riders.  This is our ultimate experience and will almost always be a private, custom ride, so be sure to call for details. You will have the option to have a “saddle bag” lunch on the trail or, for an additional charge, join one of our cookouts back at the headquarters.

Pricing:

  • $275.00 per person plus tax

OUR WRANGLER GUIDES RECOMMEND:

  • Long pants and closed toe shoes strongly recommended. Hats must be secured with “stampede strings” (we don’t have stampedes but we do have some wind!)
  • Pocket-sized cameras are best on the trailride.  Larger cameras, bags and backpacks must be stowed until after the ride. Cell phones WILL work their way out of your back pocket and may be lost on the trail.
  • Riders must be 7 years old or older; younger kids can be led around the corral horseback (we call this a pony ride), but must be accompanied by a parent
  • Trail and weather conditions apply. We go rain or shine unless the conditions are unsafe, which are usually severe thunderstorms occuring late in the afternoon in the summer monsoon season (July-Sept.).
  • Cancellation policy: 50% charge for less than 24 hrs. notice, or no show
  • Horseback riding is NOT recommended for pregnant women, persons with back problems, allergic reactions, or certain medical and physical conditions.
  • Please notify us of any special needs, including weight
