Horseback riding offers an incomparably soul-satisfying way to take in the spirit of this region and learn about the unique ecosystem that makes Sedona so special. Every horseback adventure we offer is guaranteed to provide an authentic and memorable experience set in an awe-inspiring landscape. Come enjoy our wide open spaces and learn how we work to protect and improve them. This is a great opportunity to see wildlife, but it is NOT an appointment to do so; we’re dealing with Mother Nature here, not Walt Disney! Depending on the season, you might see elk, deer, antelope, bighorn sheep, Gambel quail, javelina, red tail hawks, and western blue birds in the winter and wildflowers in the spring. So, bring your camera – the sights are awesome! Trail rides are small, 15 people maximum, and usually much smaller than that. You will be guided by a friendly, knowledgeable M Diamond Ranch wrangler.
The 1-Hour Ridge Trail
The Ridge Trail climbs a ridge above the ranch providing breathtaking views of Sedona’s Red Rocks, the Mogollon Rim, Verde Valley and the San Francisco Peaks north of Flagstaff. This is a “loop” trail suitable for all ages and abilities.
Pricing
- Adults: $75.00 + tax, includes transportation
- Kids 7-12: $55.00 + tax
- Kids Under 7: FREE to enjoy a “pony” ride being led around the corral, but must be accompanied by a parent. We ask that you tip your guide for the pony ride; $15.00 is customary
The 2-Hour Rock Art Trail
The Rock Art Trail follows the base of a ridge, crossing a couple of sandy washes along the way to a Sinaguan Rock Art (petroglyph) panel. There are trees for shade, and some ascents and descents. For rider safety and horse health, there is a weight limit of 200 pounds for this ride. This is an out-and-back destination ride suitable for experienced riders, motivated beginners and older children.
We expect this trail to open in June. Please call 928.300.6466 for the latest information and to make your reservations.
Pricing
- All riders: $114.00+tax, includes transportation
- Children must be 12 years or older
- 200 pound weight limit
“Where in the world can man find nobility without pride Friendship without envy, or beauty without vanity? Here, where grace is laced with muscle, and strength by gentleness confined. He serves without servility, he has fought without enmity. There is nothing so powerful, nothing less violent; There is nothing so quick, nothing more patient. All of our past is borne on his back, all our history in his industry. We are all his heirs, he our inheritance. Ladies and Gentlemen: The Horse”.
…Ronald Duncan
Our Wrangler Guides recommend:
- Long pants and closed toe shoes strongly recommended. Hats must be secured with “stampede strings” (we don’t have stampedes but we do have some wind!)
- Pocket-sized cameras are best on the trailride. Larger cameras, bags and backpacks must be stowed until after the ride. Cell phones WILL work their way out of your back pocket and may be lost on the trail.
- Riders must be 7 years old or older; younger kids can be led around the corral horseback (we call this a pony ride), but must be accompanied by a parent
- Trail and weather conditions apply. We go rain or shine unless the conditions are unsafe, which are usually severe thunderstorms occuring late in the afternoon in the summer monsoon season (July-Sept.).
- Cancellation policy: 50% charge for less than 24 hrs. notice, or no show
- Horseback riding is NOT recommended for pregnant women, persons with back problems, allergic reactions, or certain medical and physical conditions.
- Please notify us of any special needs, including weight
